Meeting held between RIMS, JACs

RIMS Director Prof S Sekharjit and other senior officials and professors held a cordial and fruitful meeting today with the representatives of the coordinating committee on JACs formed in connection with the recent deaths during child births.
According to a statement issued by Media Adviser of RIMS, the representatives demanded a copy of the enquiry report.
It was pointed out that it was an internal inquiry and another enquiry is being conducted by the Manipur Government since an FIR had been registered by police.
The RIMS authority also appreciated the people oriented suggestions from the committee representatives.
It was assured that appropriate disciplinary actions will be taken up against those doctors whenever there are evidences of criminal negligence.
As regards private practice it was informed that appropriate actions had been taken up in some cases and some others warned in person.
Proceedings are going on in case of some others.
The suggestion of the JAC members on the installation of the CCTV and biometric attendance system was taken.
They were informed that these are in advanced stage of implementation, it said.
The RIMS authority welcomes such positive suggestions from the members of the public for the improvement of the healthcare services.
The basic problems faced by the RIMS doctors were also communicated to them since RIMS is a tertiary referral hospital where rare and serious cases referred from district and general hospital only should be treated, the statement added.
