National integration camp

Imphal, January 20 2014 :
A four-day National integration camp, organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Imphal West under the sponsorship of Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, has kick started at Khuman Lampak Kangshang from today.
NIC teams from Haflong, Jorhat, Agartala, Nalanda, Ambala, Dimapur, Phek, Cooch Behar and nine districts of Manipur are participating at the camp.
Minor Irrigation and DIPR Parliamentary Secretary K Meghachandra and MLA RK Anand graced the opening function as chief guest and president respectively.
Youth Affairs and Sports Commissioner Dr RK Nimai and Prof N Mohendro Singh also attended the function as guests of honour respectively.
Speaking at the occasion, K Meghachandra said that it is necessary for the youths to learn the culture of tolerance and develop the sense of responsibility.
Saying that youth have important roles to play in the society, Meghachandra expressed hope that the camp would be productive and successful.
RK Anand said that the camp was an opportunity to evolve the sense of unity and oneness.
Dr RK Nimai said that the idea of organising the camp was to inculcate the core elements of education and make the youth aware of the practices and rituals of different cultures.
Prof N Mohindro opined that youth must be enthusiastic, creative, energetic and have a clear frame of mind.
