Hockey team flagged off
President of All Manipur Working Journalist Union (AMWJU) Wangkhemcha Shyamjai flagged off a team of Hockey players of Manipur from Khuman Lampak today.
The team would represent Manipur Hockey team in the ensuing U-14 Indian KD Babu Hockey Tournament to be held at Lucknow from 2nd February, 2014 .
Table Tennis players selected
In all 14 men and 8 women table tennis players have been provisionally selected by Department of Sports, Manipur University for preparation of Manipur University Table �Tennis (Men & Women) teams to participate in the East Zone Inter University Table-Tesnnin (Men & Women) Tournament 2013-14 due to be held at Calcutta University, West Bengal from 10th February, 2014 .
The selected players have been asked to report at Dr.Kamal Indoor Stadium of the University with playing kits for further trial selection cum coaching to be held on 25th January, 2014 at 9.00 am in the morning.
Manipur bags 17 medals on day-5
Manipur won altogether 17 medals and led the medal tally on day-5 of the ongoing 24th National Canoe Sprint Championship 2014 being held at Bhopal since 14th January, 2014 .
Manipur have so far collected 3 golds, 11 silvers and 3 bronze medals in the championship.
Wrestling players leave
Two players of All Manipur Belt Wrestling Association (AMBWA) namely, Md.Rajauddin and Md.Abas Khan left Imphal for Maharashtra to participate in the upcoming 3rd NTWFI National Traditional Wrestling Championship 2013-14 to be held from 24th to 26th January, 2014 at District Sports Complex, Salapur, Maharashtra.
Md.Rajauddin would compete in 55kg category while Md.Abas in 60 kg category.
