JAC suspends indefinite bandh

The Joint Action Committee against the brutal killing of Akoijam Nonganba has suspended the indefinite State wide bandh till February 19 in view of the ongoing G20 Summit in the State.
Speaking to media persons on the sidelines of the sit-in protest staged at Kwakeithel Awang Konjeng Community hall today, JAC convenor Th Ashalata said that the JAC resolved to suspend the protest and indefinite bandh till February 19 as the per the request of the Government in connection with the ongoing G20 Summit.
However JAC will launch intense form of agitation from February 20 if the authorities concerned failed to apprehend all the culprits involved in the killing of Nonganba by February 19, she cautioned.
Expressing discontent over the failure to apprehend the all the culprits involved in the alleged killing of Nonganba, she questioned, 'Why the authorities concerned is unable to bring out the truth behind the killing of Nonganba till date?' .
She urged the Government to ramp up the investigation process and book the culprits to ensure that justice is delivered at the earliest.
