Imphal, February 17 2023:
The All Manipur Health Services Doctors Association (AMHSDA) has admitted that their decision to close Government hospitals has affected the lives of people in hill districts and urged the Outer Lok Sabha MP to help get their grievances redressed.
People in valley areas, however, can get treatment from private hospitals and JNIMS and RIMS, said AMHSDA in a letter written to Outer MP Lorho S Pfoze.
It may be mentioned that AMHSDA launched an indefinite agitation to shutdown Government health institutions from February 14 over the non-fulfilment of their demands by the Government despite repeated assurances.
The demands of AMHSDA include time bound promotion; extension of superannuation age of specialists and non-specialist doctors to 65 years; inclusion of NPA in the basic pay with effect from January 1 of 2016 as per the 7th Central Pay Commission; and amendment of the 'outdated' MHS Rules 1982 .
The association urged the MP to help redress the grievances and plight of doctors.
