6th Int'l Women's Polo : South Africa on roll, crush Manipur-B 7-2 for third victory

South Africa cruised to third victory in the ongoing 6th International Women's Polo Tournament with a 7-2 thrashing of Manipur-B today here at Mapal Kangjeibung.
Having crushed Manipur-A 6-3 in the tourney opener and overwhelmed Indian Polo Association (IPA) 9-2 in the second match, pumped up South Africa rode on skipper Amy Michelle's treble to pull off the convincing 7-2 victory today.
The two sides drew nil in the opening chukker but South Africa women surged ahead in the second chukker with Tessa Lela Sarah Moxon scoring the just few seconds into the chukker.
Amy Michelle then struck twice in the second and the last chukkers as Vermaak Alida Brenda scored one in between her goals to make it 4-0 at halftime.
Tessa Lela Sarah scored her second and final goal as soon as the third chukker ensued before Th Sanajaobi pulled back a goal for Manipur-B in the 4th minute.
Amy Michelle then stamped her authority, chipping home her third goal to make it 6-1 at the end of the third chukker.
Manipur-B's captain Neelu RK managed to add another to the team's tally in the second minute of the final chukker but it proved to be the last goal for the team.
Vermaak Alida then had her second at the stroke of the 6th minute to complete the 7-2 trouncing of the local team.
Earlier in the day, Kh Deventy and M Priya Devi shone with trebles to lead Manipur-A to a 10-0 win over IPA.
Manipur-A led the first chukker 3-0 with Deventy scoring twice and M Priya adding once before easing to a 5-0 lead as M Priya added two more to complete her treble in the second chukker.
The third chukker saw Y Ranjita and Kh Habe adding a goal apiece in the third chukker as Manipur-A further extended the lead to 7-0 .
Kh Habe, Lucy L and Kh Deventy took honours to add a goal each in the final chukker and wrapped up the game 10-0 .
Luxembourg will play Manipur-A in the next game tomorrow before IPA take on Manipur-B .
