GP Women's College observes 58th foundation day

GP Women's College, Imphal celebrated its 58th foundation day at the Central Hall of the College today.
The 58th foundation day celebration was accompanied by a prize distribution ceremony to honour toppers of the college, including subject toppers in 2020 and 2022 .
The function was attended by H Dev Shekhar Sharma, retired IAS; Dr Rajkumari Tamphasana, Principal, GP Women's College and Dr Maisnam Bidyasagar, HoD, Physics Department, GP Women's College and vice-president of the students' union of the college as the chief guest, functional president and guest of honour respectively.
As a part of the function, floral tributes were offered on the bust of Ima Ghanapriya, founder of GP Women's College and on the portrait of her son H Dwijamani Dev Sharma.

Speaking as the chief guest, H Dev Shekhar Sharma hailed the college as one of the most reputable women's colleges in the State.
He expressed joy that many students of the College have excelled in various fields and professions.
He added that today's 58th foundation day celebration will commemorate the sacrifices and contributions of the teachers, students and non-teaching staff during the last 58 years since the inception of the college.
During the function, university toppers, college toppers and subjects toppers of the college in 2020 and 2022 were awarded cash prizes along with a citation.
Retired teachers of the college, non-teaching staff and students participated in the event.
