CSO leaders visit injured persons

ICHAM and Anti-drug Coordinating Committee, Manipur today inspected and handed over monetary aid to Wahidur Rahaman and Md Islauddin (55) who were allegedly thrashed at Kakwa Naorem Leikai on April 27 by supporters of the indefinite bandh along Singjamei to Lilong stretch of Imphal-Moreh highway.
In the inspection tour along with media persons at Noor Hospital, Lilong, N Boy, President ICHAM, BB Sharma, advisor ICHAM and Md Amu, general secretary Anti-drug Coordinating Committee, Manipur met the victims and handed monetary help to them.
Mention may be made here that three individuals belonging to different communities were allegedly beaten up by bandh supporters on April 27.Wahidur Rahaman s/o Seraj Ahmad of Lilong Haoreibi Turel Ahanbi Makha and Md Islauddin s/o Nurul of Irong Khunou, Mayang Imphal are among the three injured who are presently treated at Noor Hospital, Lilong.
Wahidur received injuries on his chin, right eye and both the arms while Islauddin was injured on his knee and head.
The representatives of the two organisations also interacted with the family members of the victims.
During the interaction, Boy condemned the killing of Sagolsem Prashanta and said that ICHAM extended support to the agitation carried out by the JAC against the brutal killing of Sagolsem Prasanta.
However, he deplored the interpretation of the incident on communal line and beating of the three individuals by the alleged bandh supporters.
He appealed to all CSOs and all concerned public to join hands and bring out the murderers and perpetrators.
He also urged the Government to arrest the murderers and give befitting punishment at the earliest to set things in the right perspective.
Maulana Maniruddin, who represented the Anti-drug Co-ordinating Committee, Manipur condemned both the incidents of killing and beating.
Opining that hatred among the communities will only retard the growth of the State, Maulana also appealed to the people of all communities to collectively urge the Government to arrest the perpetrators of the crimes.
