Imphal, April 29 2016 :
Informing that post mortem of the body of Sagolsem Prasanta alias Abung has been already conducted, the JAC Against the Brutal Killing of Sagolsem Prasanta alias Abung has urged the Government to make the post mortem report available to public within 48 hours.
The JAC maintained that they would not be claiming the corpse of Prasanta until the facts and circumstances leading to his death are established.
A press release issued by the JAC informed that the ongoing highway bandh from Singjamei to Lilong Bridge will go on until the Government establishes all the facts and circumstances leading to the death of Prasanta.
Religious ceremonies, medical services and essential services would be exempted from the purview of the highway bandh, it said.
It also contended that the death of Prasanta was not a case of suicide but murder.
The plastic rope with which Prasanta was found hanging was wound around his neck twice and it had four knots.
Prasanta's vest was found torn and the torn piece was found blindfolding him, the JAC asserted while questioning how could a blindfolded man commit suicide by hanging.
His legs were found muddied up to the knees and his shoes were found separated by at least 50 feet.
While his mobile phone was missing, his private part was found swollen.
All these physical evidences proved that it was a case of murder not suicide, the JAC contended.
Moreover, if anybody is determined to commit suicide, he/she would not 10 Kms away from his/her home, the JAC said.
The JAC has no ill-feeling against any particular community.
As for the casualties suffered by a few persons in the night of April 27, it was a result of deliberately defying the highway bandh, it added.
