Wold Fisheries Day celebrated

Imphal, November 21 2022:
A Congress Party team today visited Loktak Lake and interacted with the fisherfolks settled in and around the lake to celebrate World Fisheries Day.
The team was led by All India Fishermen Congress National vice chairman, Ningombam Bupenda Meitei.
He was accompanied by senior office bearers of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee including MPCC general secretaries Amir Hussain, Meghachandra Mangancha, Wahidur Rahman; Bishnupur DCC president, Nur Rahman and Thanga BCC president, N Birababu.
The team spent 4 hours with the fisher folks in Loktak Lake and listened to their grievances & problems faced by them.
Speaking on the occasion, Bupenda Meitei stated that the Congress Party has always stood for the fishing communities and for sustainable fishing production.
Reiterating the vision for development of fisheries in India under the leadership of Congress president, Mallikarjun Kharge and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, he stated that the door of the Congress Party is always open to the fishing communities.
