Manipur suffer 8 wicket loss to UP in Vijay Hazare Trophy

Imphal, November 21 2022:
Manipur went down by 8 wickets to Uttar Pradesh for the 6th successive loss in the Vijay Hazare Trophy at Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi.
Put in to bat first, Manipur were bowled out for a paltry total of 132 runs in 32.3 overs before Uttar Pradesh eased to the victory in 19.2 overs losing only two wickets.
Manipur started their innings on a sticky note losing both the openers on ducks but Nitesh (23) and Priyojit K (44) made valuable contributions to take Manipur past the hundred run mark.
UP's Ankit Rajpoot enjoyed a three wicket haul in this innings as Kartik Tyagi and Karan Sharma shared two wickets each.
Aaqib Khan, Saurabh kumar and Jasmer Dhankhar also picked up a wicket each before Madhav Kaushik blazed off unbeaten 75 off 54 balls with Priyam Garg who was also unbeaten on 39 runs to seal the victory.
Jotin Pheiroijam claimed both the wickets in UP's innings.
Manipur will play Tripura in the next match on November 23 .
