Media sensitization workshop on NTEP, IPT conducted

Community Network for Empowerment (CoNE) organised a State level Media Sensitization Workshop on National Tuberculosis Eliminationprogram(NTEP)and Isoniazid Prevention therapy (IPT) at the conference hall of CoNE, Keishamthong Hodam LeirakMachin today.
The workshop was supported by O'Neill Institute.
During the workshop.
Advocacy, Communication and Social Mobilization Officer, State TB Cell, Lamphelpat, K Deben spoke in length on 'Understanding TB inspection and the National Tuberculosis Elimination program (NTEP)' while Medical Microbiologist, State TB Cell, Y Joyshankar spoke on the fundamentals of Isoniazid Prevention therapy (IPT).
Speaking in connection with the programme, CoNE president RK Nalinikanta said that the workshop is organised as a part of the measures taken up by the Health Department to actualise the vision of eradicating Tuberculosis (TB) by 2025.The workshop is aimed at sensitizing the media persons about TB with the belief that they will play a major role in spreading awareness to the public about this disease to ensure that one stays protected from TB and curb its further spread.
CoNE Secretary RK Komoljit Singh and member Th Anilkumar were also present at the workshop.
Later an interactive session was held among the resource persons and the attendees.
