Western music grading exam held

The two-day grading examination of western music was conducted by Imphal School of Music (ISM), Uripok under the aegis of Trinity College, London at Hotel Imphal from Dec 15-16 .
The first ever western music grading examination in the State was held under the supervision of Richard Deering, examiner, Trinity College, London.
According to ISM managing director Hem Gurumayum, the practical examinations of the western music course were held at Shillong till 2013.Students of the school, therefore had to travel to Shillong in order to appear in the said examination.

ISM, through its persistent undertakings, has been able to conduct this year's grading examination here at Imphal, thereby cutting down the travelling cost and other inconveniences faced by the students, Hem added.
The Imphal School of Music was established in 2012 by a group of music lovers with the sole aim to provide a platform to the talented youths of the State in the field of music.
A total of 31 students appeared in today's grading examination, Hem informed.
