Imphal, December 17 2014:
Strongly condemning the bomb blast at Thangal Bazar in which two persons were killed and four others injured on December 15 last, MODIfied Northeast India apprised the Union Home Minister and the Prime Minister Office of the failure of Congress government in maintaining law and order in the State, particularly in the city.
The Initiative has demanded stringent action against the culprits.
In a press statement, the MODIfied Northeast India alleged that the blast revealed many loopholes of the present government.
The unfortunate incident took place just 200 meters away from the City Police Station, Imphal West in broad day light where security personnel were heavily posted, it said.
When Crores of public money was spent on installation of CCTV by the government, why the two CCTV cameras installed right in front of the blast site could not record the incident, asked the statement.
Naorem Mohen, Founder of MODIfied Northeast India questioned the remarks of State Home Minister saying there was no loophole on part of security measure in and around the blast site.
The Initiative also observed two minutes silence for the innocent victims who died in the incident.
