Chief Minister Okram Ibobi reaches out to remote hills
Office buildings including Thanlon PHC inaugurated, foundation for power projects laid

Continuing the endeavour to bring balanced development of the hills and the valley of the state, the State Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh today inaugurated office buildings of Additional Deputy Commissioner office at Pherzawl, SDO Office Parbung, Thanlon PHC and Gyneacology ward of Parbung CHC along with laying foundations for the 33/1 KV power station at Pherzawl and Block Institute of Education Training Centre at Parbung.
Speaking to the gathering during the multiple-inauguration function held at Pherzawl in Tipaimukh sub-division of Churachandpur district, the Chief Minister conceded that the State government has resolved to pay more attention towards health, education and power sector to benefit the people of the state.
Local people will be given preference during recruitment of staff for the medical and education departments particularly teachers at remote areas, assured the Chief Minister while adding that Parbung High School will be a centre for the HSLC examination.
The government is planning to inaugurate the 132/33 KV power sub-station at Thanlon, 33/11 KV sub-stations at Pherzawl and Sivapurikhan each by January next year, Ibobi announced and stated that the Block Institute of Education Training Centre will be made functional at the earliest possible.
Saying that black-topping on the 185 km long Churachandpur to Parbung road is nearing completion, Ibobi informed the gathering that construction of Bailey Bridge over Barak River on Jiribam-Tipaimukh road will commence during this season.
In his speech, the chief Minister appealed to the hill people to conserve the forests for the future generation.
Phungjathang Tonsing, Health and Family Welfare Minister, Manipur presided over the inauguration function which was also attended by Works Minister Dr Kh Ratankumar, Education minister M Okendro, and MLA of Khangabok assembly constituency O Landhoni.
