Ibobi inaugurates ADC office, SDO office, et al

Chief Minister O Ibobi today inau-gurated a newly constructed office building of Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) at Pherzawl village located under Tipaimukh sub-division of Churachandpur district.
It was a busy day for the Chief Minister.
He also inaugurated Parbung SDO office, gynaecology office of Par-bung CHC and Thanlon PHC building apart from laying foundation stones of a 33/11 KV power sub-station at Pherzawl and Block Institute of Education Training Centre at Parbung.
Speaking at a function held at Pherzawl, Chief Minister O Ibobi stated that his Government has decided to give priority to health and education.
Local candidates would be given preference at the time of appointment of staff nurses.
A High School Leaving Certificate Examination centre would be opened at Parbung High School.
For Jiribam and other interior areas, local candidates would be given preference at the time of appointment of both teaching and non-teaching staff, Ibobi stated.
He claimed that maximum efforts are being invested so that 132/33 KV power sub-station of Thanlon, 33/11 KV Pherzawl power sub-station and the 33/11 KV power station of Shivapurikhal can be commissioned by January next year.
Black topping work on 185 Kms long Churachand-pur-Parbung road is nearing completion and construction work of a bailey bridge over Barak river which would form a key link of Jiri-Tipaimukh road would be started within the current working season.
Capitalising on the gathering, the Chief Minister called upon all the gathering to protect forest for the future generations.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Phungzathang Ton-sing who presided the func- tion remarked that today is a very significant day for Churachandpur district, particularly Tipaimukh and Than- lon areas.
He reminded that the Government headed by Chief Minister O Ibobi has already decided to send doctors, nurses and other staff needed at health centres located at remote places of the State.
MLA O Landhoni, the Chief Minister's wife was also present at the function.
Earlier giving keynote address of the function, Hill Areas Committee Chairman MLA Chaltonlien Amo described O Ibobi as a father figure for hill people living in far off, remote areas.
He also exuded that the State Government under the leadership of O Ibobi would take up many more development programmes and welfare schemes in many remote areas of the hill districts.
People of Pherzawl honoured Chief Minister Okram Ibobi by presenting a Shandang Education Minister M Okendro, Works Minister Dr Kh Ratankumar and Parliamentary Secretary Vungzagin Valte were also present at the function.
Traditional dance and music programmes were also presented at the gathering.
Notably, Chief Minister went to Pherzawl today in a helicopter.
