Ngamthang calls for strengthening Govt Press

Acknowledging that the Government Press despite being a small department is one of the important government departments, Minister of IFCD and Printing & Stationery, Ngamthang Haokip called upon staff of the department to execute their assigned duties wholeheartedly to strengthen the department further.
The Minister was attending a release function of Diary & Calendar, 2015 of Directorate of Printing & Stationery held at its office complex here on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion as chief guest, Ngamthang Haokip appealed to Government Press Employees' Union to submit written statement after consulting with the concerned Head of Department to highlight their grievances, while assuring that he as a responsible Minister would look into woes of the staff.
He asserted that discussion will be held with Chief Minister regarding appointment of required staff in the department.
While appealing to the union to submit detailed report on matters relating with the department by January of next year, the Minister maintained that CM would also be urged to appoint Commissioner and required Officers of the department at the earliest.
Varhlirsang Varte, Secretary of General Administration Department who was present at the occasion as guest of honor stated that the administration works of the government would be paralyzed without Government Press as the department is responsible for printing of government orders in the form of gazette.
The release function was also attended by Norbert Disinang, Commissioner (GAD/Finance) as president; Rothangvungi, Under Secretary (GAD) and Kh Lalmohan Singh, retd Deputy Director of Government Press as guests of honor.
During the function, the Government Press Employees' Union submitted a 6-point memorandum to Minister Ngamthang Haokip.
