Thoubal/Kakching, June 18 2023: Protestors at last night's one-hour demonstration burnt effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister N Biren Singh and shouted slogans against narco-terrorism, SoO pact, Kuki militants while forming human chains and holding placards in different areas of Thoubal and Kakching.

The protest demonstration which was organised worldwide under the supervision of the Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) was also conducted at Leishangthem Kelimakhong organised by Leishangthem Awang Leikai Youth Center Kelimakhong and Kelimakhong Women Development Association and at Khekman organised by Peace and Relief Committee Khekman.

Similarly, People Action Committee Khangabok and Apunba Meira Paibi Lup Khangabok organised a protest demonstration along Asian Highway 102 Khangabok.

Thousands of people formed a human chain with flaming torches in their hands and shouted slogans.

Along Charangpat Road, the protest was organised by Charangpat Apunba Meira Paibi Lup.

Here the protestors burnt effigies of the Prime Minister, Union Home Minister and Chief Minister as an expression of people's dissent.

Similarly, protests were staged along Asian Highway 102 Wangbal organised by Uyal Wangbal Meira Paibi Lup and local clubs, at Ningombam Road organsied by Semgat Shagat Lup Thoubal Ningombam, Thongju Leikai, along the State highway organsied by Wangkhem Youth Club and Meira Paibi and at Thoubal Melaground, Thoubal Wangmataba Mathak and Makha, Thoubal Tangjeng, Thoubal Okram, Thoubal Kiyam, Haokha Maning Mamang, Kiyam Siphai Babu Bazar, Khonghanbi, Waithou, Thoubal Kshetri Leikai, Khongjom, Wangjing, Khangabok Lamlong, Leishangthem Khongmanung, Thoubal Athokpam etc.

At Yairipok Top Chingtha, around two thousand people came together to form a human chain in association with the meira paibis under the jurisdiction of TYPO Club.

Similar demonstrations were held at Tentha Khunjao, Tentha Marongbal, Tentha Thongkhong Keithel and Tentha Khongbal last night.

At Kakching, the one-hour protest demonstration from 7 pm to 8 pm was taken out at various places.

People formed a human chain from Kakching Sumak Leikai Sengrong Lairembi, through Kakching Bazar till Keirak Bazar; from Wabagai Lamkhai through Lamjao, Langmeidong, Waikhong, Elangkhangpokpi, Kakching Khunou, Thongjao, Umathel, Wangoo Lamkhai, Wangoo, Pangantabi, Tangjeng and Sugnu etc.
