More bunkers raise apprehension

People in the adjacent areas of Bishnupur and Churachandpur still live in fear and uncertainty as there is no let up in the erection of bunkers outside Kuki dominated areas and close to Meetei villages of Bishnupur district.
Reportedly, Kuki militants have occupied Napat and Tangjeng village in Bishnupur since the intervening night of May 27 and May 28, apart from installing a number of bunkers along the hill range of Tangjeng Machin Ibudhou Lokningthou.
It is reported that people have witnessed new bunkers at Gwantabi, Chairel Mangjing and Leingang in Bishnupur.
About 15 new bunkers have also been set up at Kangvai, Molhoi, Songdo, Mongya, Chavungphai and Pholjang in Churachandpur district and on the western side of Phougakchao Ikhai Awang Leikai in Bishnupur by the Kuki militants increasing the total number of bunkers in the areas to about 22/23 .
It is further said that the bunkers in Henglep Constituency are getting closer to Meetei villages.
Another seven-eight bunkers have also been set up by the Kukis at Tera= khongshangbi, Khudekpi, Tronglaobi in Moirang AC, P Geljang, Molphei, Mualngat, Laika Mualsau, Malom in Churachandpur and Gurukhana in Bishnupur district.
As per our Moirang correspondent, many bunkers have been set up by the Kuki by advancing further towards Meetei villages.
The other places where new bunkers have been set up are Sengpangjar (2), Kangathei (3), Lower Khoirentak (1), L Khoirentak road (1), L Phainom (2), Khousabung (1) L Khoirentakki road (1).It is further reported that a fresh bunker has been erected along the road stretch passing through Langjingmanbi Reserve Forest which is only about 3 kms from Sunusiphai.
