New Delhi, June 18 2023:
A delegation of 13 members of Coordination Committee for Cultural Fraternity, Manipur led by world renowned theatre director Ratan Thiyam arrived today in New Delhi.
The other members are Kangjam Radhakumar Singh IAS (Retd), writer and the President of Manipur Cultural Council; Megha- chandra Kongbam Swarna Kamal Awardee Film Critic and President of Film Society of Manipur; Soibamcha Indrakumar, Manipur State Kala Akademi awardee writer and socio-political columnist; Luwangthem Tarpon, Advisor of Manipur State Shumang Lila Council, Loitongbam Brajamohon Singh, theatre director of Rupmahal Theatre and State Kala Akademi Awardee; Sougrakpam Hemanta, Sangeet Natak Akademi awardee in Sumang Lila; Laimayum Surjakanta Sharma, Chairman, Film Forum Manipur, S Thaninleima, Theatre director of Khenjonglang; Mayengbam Dhananjoy, Secretary of All Manipur Matam Ishei Kanglup; Takhellambam Shyamkanhai Waree Leeba and Sangeet Natak Bhishmillah Khan Yuva Puraskar; Saterjit Thiyam, Choreographer and Loitongbam Barashyam, theatre artiste.
The delegation has already sought an appointment of the President of India and the Prime Minister for submission of a memorandum which has been signed by the Padmashri awardees, Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardees, Sahitya Akademi awardees, National Film Awardees, Cultural organisations and literary organisations of Manipur for bringing about peace and coexistence of all the communities of Manipur.
The delegation will also meet prominent media in the national capital to draw the attention of the masses to bring about peace in Manipur.
