Imphal, June 19 2023:
Even though representatives of 10 like-minded political parties have been camping at Delhi since June 14 for an audience with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, they have not been given any appointment yet.
Representatives of JD-U, INC, CPI, CPI-M, AAP, RSP, NCP, Forward Bloc, Shiv Sena (UDP) and AITMC have been camping at Delhi to present a detailed account of the prevailing crisis and urge the Prime Minister to take up all possible peace initiatives.
On the other hand, the Kuki militants have been attacking civilians and burning down houses without any respite, informed a press release issued by JD-U Manipur.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi's stoic silence and his refusal to give an audience to Opposition parties from Manipur has only multiplied people's anxiety.
People are apprehensive that the integrity of Manipur may be harmed, JD-U said.
The violent crisis was started by Kuki militants because of the BJP leaders' failure to fulfil their own assurances given at the time of election.
Perhaps, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is aware that innocent Meitei people are suffering because of BJP's electoral politics of taking help from Kuki militant groups at the time of election.
That is why, the Prime Minister does not dare meet the united team of Opposition parties from Manipur, it said.
