AHPI meets CS, seeks Government support

Association of Healthcare Providers (AHPI) Manipur State Chapter, a conglomeration of private healthcare institutions in Manipur, on June 17 met chief secretary (CS) Dr Vineet Joshi and submit ted a letter requesting the government to help the Association in continuing its efforts to provide free/ subsidised healthcare to the crisis affected people.
In a release, AHPI Manipur said Dr Vineet Joshi respond -ed positively to their request and promised to look into the matter at the earliest.
The letter requested the government to procure emergency medicines and consumable supplies via air cargo transportation funded by the government for sup -ply to hospitals at subsidised rate to maintain adequate stock.
The AHPI also suggested that a Special Treatment Package' in the lines similar to Chief Ministergi Hakshelgi Tenbang (CMHT) should be instituted by the government for all persons directly affected by the crisis and in the relief camps'.
Enrolment of beneficiaries may be ex pedited to enable immediate functioning of this 'Special Treatment Package' ASAP, it stressed.
The Association also informed that member hospitals and diagnostic centres catered to more than 100 affected people in the form ofOPD, in patients, surgeries, diagnostic investigations and ICU admissions, which roughly amounts to a total cost of about Rs 54 lakh since May 3 till date.
AHPI also strongly condemned the continuing violence in the state and condoled loss of precious lives and fervently appealed to the government to restore peace and normalcy in the state at the earliest.
