Rashtra Sevika Samiti calls on Governor

Sunita Kulkarni of Rashtra Sevika Samiti, Guwahati Centre along with five others and Lt General (Retd) K Himalay met Governor Anusuiya Uikey at Raj Bhavan today.
They expressed their grief to see the plight of internally displaced people who are taking shelter in different relief camps, said PRO Raj Bhavan in a statement.
The Samiti distributed essential items to different relief camps especially for pregnant women and organised medical camps at various places showing their sympathy towards them, the PRO said.
The committee also expressed their willingness to extend fullest cooperation to restore normalcy in the State at the earliest possible so that innumerable displaced people can return to their respective places, it said.
The Samiti further said that their aim is to provide psychological support to all the affected/displaced people of the State, it said.
Thanking the samiti for their assistance the Governor apprised them about the measures taken up by the Centre and the State to bring peace and tranquillity.
Lt General (Retd.) and a Member of Consultative Committee of Manipur Government on Naga Peace Talks Konsam Himalay shared his vast experiences on restoration of peace and normalcy during the meeting, the PRO said.
