Essential items provided, blood donated

Romi Bag Industries and All Manipur Footwear Development Association provided school bags, uniforms for displaced students and raincoats for volunteers of various relief camps as Amateur Athletic Association (AAA) Helpline Committee Kong-pal Kongkham Leikai, Bright Way Club Kwakeithel Lamdong and Lamdong Leikai Yaipha Thourang Nishaband Nupi Lup handed over essential items including edibles and medicines to relief camps set up at Uyumpok Nongshum and Seijang.
Meanwhile, Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy, Imphal teachers (gurus), production units, office staffers and students numbering 20 donated blood at RIMS hospital.
Monitoring Committee, Lakh-ipur also donated a sum of Rs 50,000 to Scheduled Tribe Demand Committee Manipur.
On the other hand, Little Flower School, Sangaiprou, Imphal along with Sangaiprou meira paibi activists provided relief materials at relief camps opened at Ka kching Public School and Yumbi Macha High School on Monday.
Similarly, Manipuris in Taiwan distributed edibles at Kakching Higher Secondary School relief camp.
On the other hand, Rural Education and Action for Change-Manipur (REACH-M), Nungourok, Pallel in collaboration with ActionAid Association India provided relief items worth around Rs 5 lakh to relief camps set up at Kakching Higher Secondaiy School and Wangjing Kodompokpi Sports Complex on Monday.
A team of REACH-M, Nungourok, Pallel led by its secretary/ chief functionary M Moses Maring handed over the items at the said relief camps.
Similarly, Manipur Chamber of Commerce and Industries (MCCI) handed over relief materials for internally displaced persons to DC Imphal East Khumanthem Diana.
MCCI, an apex body of first generation entrepreneurs of the state, provided the relief materials procured through the contribution of its members to the DC for distribution to displaced people taking refuge in different relief centres across the district.
The relief materials include 100 mattresses, 100 bedsheets, 100 blankets, 50 mosquito nets and 10 plastic water tanks of500 litres capacity.
Mention may be made that MCCI had also provided surgical kits worth around Rs 2.7 lakh to JNIMS hospital as a form of assistance to those injured in the ongoing violence.
Meanwhile, Smart Universal Academy (SUA), Sekmaijin Khunou has announced that it will provide free education from pre-nursery to class XII (Science) for the academic session 2023-24 for students staying at relief camps.
