Clubs, meira paibi groups form UPC, Nambol

Bishnupur, June 19 2023:
Clubs and meira paibi groups of Nambol and Konthoujam assembly constituencies numbering 103 on Monday formed a united body called United Protection Committee (UPC), Nambol.
Announcing formation of the Committee in a press meet, UPC media and research co-convener Irengbam Dinesh said Thok-chom Lamjingba has been appointed as convener, RK Ranjan as finance sub-com-mittee co-convenor and Th Mangal as volunteers' sub-committee co-convener.
He also informed that the Committee will work for ending the ethnic clashes in the state as well as restoring peace and normalcy by uniting the indigenes of Manipur.
Dinesh further appealed to the government to take up steps for facilitating agricultural activities in the foothill areas of Keinou, Irengbam, Leimaram, Heinoubok, Kabokwakching, Kang-mong, Heigrujam, Sajirok, Moidangpok, Ngairangbam and Sangaithel which frequently face firing attacks.
He also appealed to the public to extend their support along with informing that the Committee operate from the office of Development and Protection Voluntary Organisation, Nambol Bazar.
