Humanitarian aid extended, blood donation camp held

To help the victims of the present unrest, Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy, Imphal in coordination with Department of Transfusion Medicine, RIMS, today organised a 1-day blood donation camp at Blood Bank, RIMS, Imphal.
Director of JN Manipur Dance Academy, Pukhrambam Bilash Singh along with 20 students donated blood during the camp.
Speaking on the occasion, Pukhrambam Bilash Singh shared that the camp was conducted to help the people who have been injured during the ongoing conflict in Manipur.
He continued that the artists, gurus, officials, staff and students of the academy's production unit are ready to donate their blood to help the victims of the present unrest.
Brahma Kumari Manipur in association with the Department of Transfusion Medicine, RIMS, also organised a blood donation camp at Blood Bank, RIMS, Imphal.

About 30 Brahma Kumaris under the supervision of Rajyogini in-charge Nelima donated their blood during the camp.
Moreover, to celebrate World Blood Donors Day 2023, NHIDCL, RO-Imphal under the supervision of Indian Red Cross Society Manipur State Branch, Imphal, today organised a voluntary blood donation camp at JNIMS Blood Bank Porompat, Imphal East.
About 50 staff of NHIDCL led by Executive Director (P), NHIDCL RO-Imphal, DS Chaudhary donated their blood at the camp, said a release issued by NHIDCL.
DS Chaudhary shared that the camp was organised to demonstrate solidarity towards the victims of the prevailing situation in Manipur.
Meanwhile, to help the displaced people who are taking refuge at various shelter camps in Imphal East district, Manipur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MMCI) today handed over relief items worth about Rs 1.70 lakh to Deputy Commissioner Imphal East, Khumanthem Diana Devi.
The relief materials included 100 mattresses, 100 bedsheets, 100 blankets, 50 mosquito nets and 10 water storage tanks.
At the event, Kh Diana appreciated MCCI for the relief materials which will be used to help the displaced people who are taking refuge at various shelter camps.
She shared that there about 6300 displaced people from Imphal East, Kangpokpi, Churachandpur and Moreh are taking refuge at 35 shelter camps set up in Imphal East district.
The DC also informed that about 605 houses have been burnt down in Imphal East district during the ongoing violence and about 2500 persons have been displaced.
Besides, Raj Medicity, a leading hospital in Manipur, has received a donation of Rs 30,000 from Lenin Singh Hijam, Advocate General, Manipur.
While receiving the donation, Haobijam Rajen Singh, chairman & managing director, Raj Medicity, acknowledged the efforts made by the donor and thanked him for his generosity, said a release issued by Raj Medicity.
He shared that the donation will play a vital role in the efforts of Raj Medicity to provide free & effective treatment to all those who have been affected by the ongoing violence.
Likewise, Romi Bag Industries of Takyel Industrial Estate and All Manipur Footwear Development Association have jointly distributed 1000 school bags and 1000 uniforms to the students staying at 43 relief camps opened in different places.
Romi Bag Industries also provided 1000 raincoats to the volunteers of the relief camps.
