Imphal, June 19 2023:
Expressing surprise over the unprecedented silence maintained by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in-spite of the suffering faced by people of Manipur and utter disregard for an appointment to meet him by representatives of 10 political parties since June 14, Janata Dal (United) Manipur said indifferent attitude of the Prime Minister is causing restlessness and scepticism among the masses.
In a release, JDU Manipur general secretary M Dorendro Singh said that the PM is yet to give any appointment to the representatives of 10 political parties to talk and discuss about bringing peace in the state.
Moreover, the situation in the state continues to be tense and militants continue to attack innocent people and burn down houses.
There is suspicion that the PM did not issue any statement and failed to give appointment to the team of opposition parties as he is aware that the conflict is fallout of the failure of the BJP government both in the state and at the centre to translate into action assurance given to Kuki militants during election times, he alleged.
