Imphal, June 19 2023:
Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president K Meghachandra has contended that there is nothing to expect from the present BJP government which could not ensure unity among its own MLAs when there is serious threat to territorial integrity of Manipur.
Since the past few days, a delegation of 10 political parties including Congress has been camping at the national capital seeking appointment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to apprise him about the ongoing violence in Manipur.
A team BJP MLAs and others also sought appointment with PM Modi but no ap pointment has been given to parties from Manipur till date.
The delegation of 10 political parties have apprised national leaders of Congress, JDU, CPI, CPI(M), AAP, NCP, RSP, Forward Block, Shiv Sena and AITMC about the ongoing violence in Manipur.
Some political parties had even conducted press conferences and stressed the need for BJP to resolve the crisis at the earliest.
However, it was very unfortunate for the state to witness disunity among MLAs of the ruling BJP at the time when territorial integrity of the state is at stake, Meghachandra said adding that the seemingly political crisis in the ruling party at this crucial juncture will be against the interest of the people of Manipur.
