Imphal, June 19 2023:
The Coordinating Committee Delhi has donated Rs 85,250 to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund.
A press statement issued by Bhagat Oinam, the convenor of the committee, said it had successfully organised a sit-in protest at Jantar Mantar on June 4 against Kuki militants and in support of the people of the State.
It was the untiring spirit of the Meiteis residing in Delhi and the adjoining regions who came in large numbers that made the protest demonstration a major success.
It enlivens the spirit of the Manipuris that the State of Manipur has to be kept intact against any internal and external threats, and that the people of the State can fight back against any eventualities, the statement read.
While thanking civil society organisations in Delhi for their support, it said the Coordinating Committee Delhi was formed for the purpose of organising the sit-in protest and it has been disbanded.
An unspent amount of Rs 85,250, received from several Meitei organisations and individuals, has been donated to the CM's Relief Fund, it added.
