Kangpokpi human chain pleas PM to break silence

Kangpokpi, June 19 2023:
A human chain prayer in Kangpokpi district mourned the loss of precious lives from both the communities in the ongoing violence even as two firing incidents were reported in Kangpokpi district.
While the Kuki Nampi Taona (KNT), the apex body of the Kuki's prayer cell, prepared for lengthy human chain prayer along the National Highway-2 road, two incidents of firing were reported at Hengjang village near Leimakhong and Phaileng village in Kangpokpi district Sunday midnight.
Despite the violence the previous night, thousands of people mostly women trooped out on the NH-2 braving rain and kneeled on the wet ground from Taphou Kuki village to Gamgiphai village and passionately prayed for those died of both sides in the ongoing violence.
The prayer participants were also seen putting up the Gospel words along the roadside as they prayed for the divine intervention for justice and peace.
They also prayed for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to break his silence in the form of invoking Article 365 (President's Rule) in the state to find a solution and bring justice.
Kuki Nampi Taona leaders were seen putting up a giant cross at the border gate of Kangpokpi at Gamgiphai village, evoking protection from God.
Several religious leaders who took part the human chain prayer said that God will answer prayer for the peace of in the land.
They also said that God can only heal and bring peace to both the warring communities and the state of Manipur through the intervention of central government by invoking Article 365 .
The human chain prayer was held on the culmination day of KNT's five-day fasting prayer at various Churches across the district.
