Committee petitions BJP chief to end unrest

Imphal, September 27 2023:
The Organising Committee on Public Assembly for Restoration of Peace, Manipur met BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sarda Devi at the party's office, Nityaipat Chuthek here on Tuesday and submitted a memorandum for bringing solution to the on-going conflict in the state.
The memorandum contained various demands including putting an end to all gunfights and violent incidents; preserving the status quo prior to May 3; deploying adequate security along the national highways; rehabilitation and resettlement of displaced people; destroying all poppy plantations in Manipur; strict enforcement of SoO guidelines and declaring those attacking civilians as terrorists; not to arrest any village volunteers and immediate release of Anand, who has been arrested by NIA; no Article 355 in Manipur and removal of Kuldiep Singh as security advisor; MLAs in Delhi must meet PM within two days and replace the party president and the chief minister; PM Modi must vow to end gun attacks immediately; and for appropriate action to be taken up against the ten Kuki MLAs.
