Camp inmates briefed on CMESS

An awareness cum sensitization programme under the aegis of the Planning Department was held for inmates of the relief camp at Moirang College, Moirang on Tuesday, extending benefits of the Chief Minister's Entrepreneurship Support Scheme (CMESS) to the inmates.
The programme organised under the theme 'One Family One Livelihood' was attended by College principal Dr Md Raheijuddin Sheikh as chief guest, research officer (Planning Dept) Dr RK Tombisana as president, and SDO Moirang Ch Somorendro, Lead district manager (PNB Bishnupur) Y Ibochou Singh and sub-registrar Moirang Nongthombam Sanaton as guests of honour.
Meanwhile, NSS, NCC and YRS of Moirang College conducted a campus cleaning simultaneously with the CMESS awareness programme for inmates of the relief camps in the college campus.
Around 950 inmates, who were displaced from various affected villages, have been taking shelter in the two relief camps opened at Moirang College since the outbreak of the communal violence on May 3.The cleanliness programme was conducted as a part of a series of activities under the Swachhata Hi Seva Pakhwada, which started on September 15 and continue till October 2.The college students will clean up the INA Complex at Moirang and Sendra Tourist Spot on September 28 as a part of the campaign, according to a release of the college.
