Imphal, September 27 2023:
While condemning the brutality of the state forces towards the students, the Joint Students Coordinating Committee (JSCC) has maintained that such act could have been justified if it was done against the armed Kuki narco-terrorists and not against the innocent students.
Addressing media persons at the Kwakeithel Thounaojam Leikai office of MSF here on Tuesday, JSCC coordinator L Lamyanba said that the action of the state police to-wards the students who were protesting against the brutal murder of the two students who went missing since July is condemned in the strongest term.
During the police action more than 60 students have been injured.
He further stated that only when the culprits involved in the murder of the two students are arrested and stringent action taken, the state will be considered as a land where there is rule of law.
Attacking and killing village volunteers who are safeguarding their villages and kidnapping students, torturing them and finally killing them is a barbarous, inhuman and animal act.
If the armed Chin-Kuki narco-terrorists carrying out such acts are not rooted out from the surface of the earth, the same incident would recur and it could be the sons and daughters of the MLAs and ministers of Manipur.
He also said that JSCC is all set to launch various forms of intense agitations against the inhuman actions of the armed Kuki terrorists.
Since the security advisor of the state and the thousands of central forces deployed in the state are unable to arrest the culprits involved in the brutal murder of the two students, there is no reason for these forces and the security advisor to remain in the state, he said and added that the brutal murder of the students should be condemned by all communities including the Kukis.
