Medical, Assam varsity students join protest

As protest against the murder of two students continued for the second day on Wednesday, students of JNIMS, Assam University and Kindergarten Montessori School, Takyel Kolom Leikai joined the protest demanding swift justice for the two victims.
Students, teaching and non-teaching staff of Kindergarten Montessori School organised a sit-in protest in front of the school gate, strongly condemned the killing of the two students and decried the sluggish response of the government in pursuing the case.
Later, the protestors also went to the house of the two victims and shared the pain of the bereaved families.
Medical students and resident doctors of JNIMS also organised a protest demonstration and formed human chain denouncing the heinous crime of abduction and murder of the two students.
They first organised a sit-in protest in front of the administrative block of the medical institute and took out a march along Ayangpalli Road where they formed a human chain to register their protest while shouting slogans against the crime.
Manipuri students of Assam University also showed solidarity to the protest by organising a candle light vigil in the university campus where they also offered floral tributes to the photos of the two students.
Registrar in-charge of the university Jayanta Bhattacharjee and faculties of different departments also joined the protest.
The protestors urged the government for swift justice to the two victims.
Medical students of RIMS also organised a candle light vigil at RIMS mini ground on Wednesday night to register their protest against the murder of the two students.
They also offered prayer for the two departed souls to rest in peace.
