Imphal, September 27 2023:
The Communist Party of India, Manipur State Council (CPI/MSC) on Wednesday submitted a memorandum to the Union Home Minister Amit Shah seeking his immediate intervention to restore peace & normalcy in the State of Manipur.
In the memorandum, CPI/MSC reiterated that the present crisis is neither a law & order problem, nor a mere communal flare-up between the twocommunities i.e., Kuki and Meitei.
It is very much crystal clear that it is a genuine case of foreign aggression perpetrated by the Chin-Kuki militants (Narco-terrorist group) into the Indian territory having close nexus with Kuki underground elements under tripartite SoO agreement, intending to eliminate the Meitei community in order to set up a separate homeland of Kuki community within the state of Manipur, said CPI/MSC.
The party shared that innocent people belonging to both the communities, including those of other remaining communities have suffered a lot.
In regard to the killing of two innocent students, the CPI said, "On September 25, 2023, photos of two teenagers, namely Phijam Hemanjit and Hijam Linthoingangbi, both belonging to Meitei community who went missing since July 6, purportedly showing them alive while in captivity of some people armed with sophisticated weapons and their lifeless bodies lying near a boulder in a forest area went viral on social media.
Now it has been established that the duo were kidnapped by the Kuki militants and murdered mercilessly.
The female child is suspected to have been raped and murdered" .
The party continued that on seeing the photos of the duo on social media, students, youth and womenfolk have come out on the street and staged protests against the brutal murder of the students, resulting in total breakdown of law & order in the state.
Claiming that the law enforcing agency as well as intelligence network have been paralysed and are unable to nab the culprits, the CPI/MSC fervently urged the Union Home Minister to intervene to ensure that the culprits involved in the brutal murder of teenagers are booked and necessary legal actions are initiated against them according to the law of the land.
