AR recovers weapons, assists convention

Imphal, September 27 2023:
In a joint search operation conducted by troopers of Assam Rifles and Manipur police in the general area of Bijang village in Churachandpur district, huge cache of weapons, ammunition and war like stores were recovered on Tuesday.
According to PRO IGAR (S), a total of 12 weapons including one country made automatic rifle, two carbine machine guns, one 9mm pistol, one single barrel rifle, seven improvised mortars and war like stores were recovered.
The recovered items have been handed over to Sanaikot police station, the PRO added.
In a similar operation conducted at Langol, a joint column of 4 Assam Rifles along with Imphal West police and commandos recovered one 5.56 mm AMOGH carbine along with three magazines and four Number 36 hand grenades, the PRO informed, adding that, the seized weapons have been handed over to Lamphel police station.
On the other hand, under the aegis of IGAR(S) its troopers on Monday extended assistance to Marem Khullen village in Ukhrul district for organising 3rd Women Fellowship Conference by NTNBA (North Tangkhul Naga Baptist Association) for empowering women, unification of Church and Spiritual growth, the PRO informed.
Meanwhile, under the aegis HQ IGAR (S) its troopers organised a cleanliness drive at Sita village and Tengnoupal village to promote "Swatch Bharat Abhiyan" in Tengnoupal district on Tuesday, the PRO added.
