Imphal, October 02 2023:
Uripok Apunba Lup has appealed against destroying public properties/infrastruc-tures that will add more burden to the people who are already reeling under the impact of the current conflict in the state.
In a release, Uripok Apunba Lup stated that the conflict that broke out since May 3 is going on for more than four months.
Numerous Meetei people have sacrificed their lives without any fear for protecting the integrity of Manipur.
Amidst such situation, Kuki militants shared photos of the lifeless bodies of Hijam Linthoingambi and Phijam Hemanjit to provoke the Meiteis.
Stating that no one knows when the conflict will be over, it urged the people not to destroy or target public proper-ties/infrastructure including hospitals, schools, colleges, university, offices and DC offices.
Destruction of offices where important documents of the state are kept will not only add more burden to the already aggrieved people but will lead to destruction of Meetei's identity, it reasoned.
