AR constructs waiting shed, assists in repairing

Assam Rifles of IGAR (South) constructed a waiting shed at Wamku village, Chandel district, in collaboration with local villagers.
According to PRO IGAR (S), Wamku village, situated in the scenic Chandel district, experiences heavy rainfall during the monsoon season, leaving the travellers and the villagers without shelter.
Recognising this urgent need, Assam Rifles initiated the construction of a waiting shed in partnership with the local community.
The waiting shed was inaugurated on October 1 by Assam Rifles personnel and members of the Wamku village.
Meanwhile, Assam Rifles provided construction materials to Thamlapokpi village for the repair of a prayer hall that was damaged during a firefight between armed insurgents and Assam Rifles on September 8, 2023, in Pallel.
The Thamlapokpi prayer hall, which had recently been constructed, suffered severe damages during the exchange of fire between security forces and armed miscreants during the attack on Pallel.
Assam Rifles supplied the necessary construction materials for the repair of the prayer hall, reaffirming its commitment to the community welfare and maintaining harmony in the region, the release further said.
