Imphal, October 02 2023:
Twenty five members of Youth of Manipur (YOM) who visited Delhi to exert pressure on MLAs stationed at Delhi for restoring peace and normalcy in the state, returned to Imphal on Monday.
Speaking in this regard, members of YOM informed they have no affiliation with any political party and refuted the allegation that during the meeting with MLAs they (YOM) raised demand to impose PR in the state.
Maintaining that MLAs visiting Delhi is of no use, they said that members of YOM went to the national capital to exert pressure on the MLAs for restoring peace and normalcy.
Unfortunately, not a single point was agreed mutually between YOM and MLAs.
Moreover, the CM turned down request to come to Delhi so as to bring a solution to the conflict.
If he (CM) was called by Home Minister, then he might have dashed within minutes on charter flight, they contended.
While disclosing that was some confrontation during the meeting as minister Susindro tried to assault them for questioning whether removal of CM can bring solution, they advised MLAs to understand sentiments of the youth when their request to the CM to visit Delhi for bringing a solution was denied.
Regarding the statement of MLA Susindro demanding frontal organisations to clarify whether YOM is acceptable to the people of Manipur, they enquired whether the question raised by the minister is also shared by the other MLAs.
People desired that the elected representatives adopt resolution prior to the decision taken by central government about the conflict.
There is no need to wait for the central government.
MLAs should adopt a firm resolution to end the conflict, they affirmed and urged the people to meet their local MLAs, find out their stands and question whether the MLAs will remain silent if centre and CM do not take any resolution.
