Imphal, October 02 2023:
Enquiring as to what agenda is behind the apparently similar demands of Youth of Manipur (YOM) and those trying to destroy Manipur, CAF&PD minister L Susindro has expressed his desire to understand whether YOM is in any way related with the CSOs and student bodies of the state.
Addressing media persons at his Khurai residence here on Monday, minister Susindro said that the CSOs and meira paibis of the state are against imposition of President's Rule in Mani pur.
However, the demand of YOM seems to be contradictory to the general sentiment of the Meeteis but in congruous to agenda of those trying to disintegrate and destroy Manipur.
Their demand is similar to inviting President's Rule in Manipur.
Therefore, it is desirable at this point of time to know whether there is any relation between YOM and the CSOs and student bodies of the state.
Whether YOM is representing all the CSOs and student bodies of the state is something which needs to be answered by all, he opined.
Minister Susindro also said that the state government is providing necessary help to families who lost their near and dear ones in the current crisis and will also continue to do so.
At his personal level, he will also extend all possible help to the students injured in the agitation, the minister assured.
Susindro also warned of initiating legal action against organisations misleading people and trying to sabotage genuine movement of the people by standing against the government.
According to the minister, some organisations emerged amidst the continuing unrest in Manipur with the help of some political parties and these organisations are misleading people and trying to sabotage the genuine movement of the people.
Susindro said a recently floated organisation named Manipur Awang Chingkhei Kanba Apunba Meira Paibi and Clubs organised a candle light vigil in honour of two students at Khurai popular high school ground few days back.
However, it was very unfortunate that rumour was spread amidst the candle light vigil that Meira Paibis of Khurai are keeping vigil at MLA/minister's house, Susindro said adding that he has always been calling for collective efforts of Meira Paibis and CSOs in respect of Khurai AC.
Formation of organisation for every issue by bringing out personal enmity is confusing people and it is not a good step to mix personal enmity with issues concerning entire people of the land, Susindro said while maintaining that state's issue need to be fought collectively by the people.
The candle light vigil organised by the organisation of Khundrakpam, Khurai and Lamlai ACs was commendable but the attempt to attack my residence after the event is condemnable, he added.
