National Cleanliness Day celebrated, Special Campaign 3.0 launched

National Cleanliness Day was celebrated in the State on Monday to pay homage to the father of the Nation- Mahatma Gandhi on his 154th birth anniversary.
The Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal celebrated Gandhi Jayanti (National Cleanliness Day) in various wards of RIMS Hospital, Imphal on Monday.
On the occasion, Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director RIMS, Imphal also launched Special Campaign 3.0 for improving Swachhta and disposal of pending references in the presence of Prof N Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent, RIMS Hospital, Imphal.
The Special Campaign 3.0 will be observed from October 2-31, 2023, said RIMS in a release.

As part of the National Cleanliness Day celebration and Special Campaign 3.0, a cleanliness drive was also conducted at Ladies Hostel No III & IV and nearby areas.
Staff of Centre for Research on Environment Development (CRED), Manipur Security Services (MSS), Imphal; faculty members, officials, nurses, students and staff of RIMS Imphal took part in the cleanliness drive.
Central Agricultural University, Headquarters, Lamphelpat, Imphal and its 13 constituent colleges and 6 KVKs also celebrated the 154th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on Monday.
As part of the celebration, cleanliness and sanitation programmes were conducted in and around the campus.
Vice Chancellor, CAU, Imphal, Directors, Registrar, Comptroller, Deans, other officials and staff carried out cleanliness activities in their departments/offices and adjoining areas.
Moreover, Special Campaign 3.0 for Institutionalizing Swachhata and Minimizing Pendency in Government Office was inaugurated today at ICAR Manipur Centre, Lamphelpat.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Ramgopal Laha, Head, Regional Centre, ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region Manipur Centre elaborated on the importance of the Special Campaign which was started in 2021 and continued up to 2022 as Special Campaign 2.0 converting about 89.9 lakh square feet of spaces into productive usages and generated huge amount of revenues to the Government of India.
He shared that the main aim of Special Campaign 3.0 is to improve overall cleanliness of the offices, scraping of redundant items and their disposal, etc.
Around 40 staff of ICAR Manipur Centre and ICAR-KVKs participated in the campaign and cleaned the Main office premises, surrounding area of Main office, Guest House, Quarters, etc.
