Team Nishikant has urged the Government to hand over the mortal remains of Phijam Hemanjit and Hijam Linthoingambi to their respective families within three days.
Taking strong exception to the killing of the two students by Kuki militants, Team Nishikant staged a sit-in protest at Keishampat Leimajam Leikai today.
At the protest demonstration, spokesperson of Team Nishikant Chongtham Iboyaima said that they strongly condemn the murder of the two students mercilessly by the Kuki militants.
Appealing to the Government to arrest other people involved in the heinous crime too and hand over the mortal remains of the two students to the bereaved families within three days, Iboyaima said that Team Nishikant will endorse all movements taken up by the people to deliver justice to the two teenage students and to protect the State's integrity.
A Meira Paibi leader from Keishamthong AC Soraisam Ashalata said that the protest demonstration was staged under the aegis of MLA Nishikant Singh Sapam.
Saying that the two students went missing on July 6 but the whereabouts of the bodies of the two students are still not known, Ashalata urged the Government to exercise all its authorities to retrieve the bodies at the earliest.
She further said that they, the mothers, are even ready to sacrifice their lives in seeking justice for the two students.
