Imphal, October 02 2023:
Claiming that it is the failure of Kuldiep Singh as the Security Advisor to Manipur Government which led to the escalation of violence in Manipur, Thangmeiband Constituency MLA Kh Joykisan has said that he will give a cash reward of 2 lakh to CBI if they can hand over the bodies of Phijam Hemanjit and Hijam Linthoingmabi to the bereaved families.
Thangmeiband Kendra Development Organisation (TAKDO) observed Gandhi Jayanti with the inmates of relief camp at Tombisana High School at Khuyathong today.
After offering floral tributes to the photo of Mahatma Gandhi, Kh Joykisan said that he, despite being an MLA of the ruling party, had to air the grievances of the people as he is an elected representative.
Claiming that it is the ineffective of the Security Advisor which led to the escalation of violence in Manipur, the MLA continued that Kuldiep Singh also failed to give explicit command to State and Central forces to end the violence despite being appointed as the chairman of Unified Command and Security Advisor to the Manipur Government.
He also said that the two Meeteis who presumably have been murdered by the Kuki militants could have been rescued had the Security Advisor sent security forces to Joujangtek areas and carried out a search operation.
The Security Advisor doesn't want the violence in Manipur to end and so he didn't send security forces to rescue the two students, he charged.
Joykisan went on to claim that the ineffectiveness of the Security Advisor has embarrassed the Chief Minister, BJP State unit president A Sarda Devi and members of the party in front of the public.
Saying that Manipur needs a sincere and bold Security Advisor who can break the cycle of violence , the MLA of Thangmeiband Constituency claimed that brutality meted out by security forces against students who protested against the murder of Phijam Hemanjit and Hijam Linthoingmabi was under the command of Kuldiep Singh.
CBI has arrested at least four Kukis in connection with the murder of the two Meetei students, he said and urged the Government agency to retrieve the bodies of the two students and hand them over to their respective families to perform the last rites.
He said that he would provide Rs 2 lakh to the CBI if they can retrieve the mortal remains of the two students.
The MLA also sought intervention of the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister to solve the crisis in Manipur.
