Assam bodies provide relief materials

Senior Citizens of Ho-jai, Assam and Apunba Mei-ra Paibi Lup, Brahmaputra Valley, Assam have assured that Meetei people settling in Assam will fully support the ongoing movement to pro-tect the territorial integrity of Manipur.
A seven-member delega-tion of the Assam civil bod-ies in Manipur since June 15 provided relief materials and cash through COCOMI for displaced people currently taking shelter in relief camps.
Apunba Meira Paibi Lup president L Bijontina told media persons at Manipur Press Club on Saturday that Meetei people settling in Assam are worried over the continuous clashes between two communities in Mani-pur.
The delegation arrived here on June 15 and visit-ed different relief camps to share pains and sorrow of the affected people apart from providing relief materials and financial assistance, she said.
According to Bijontina, Meeteis in Assam honour all those who sacrificed their lives in the ongoing movement to keep intact territorial integrity of Ma-nipur.
She also said that the delegation from Assam submitted memorandum to CM Biren through BJP Ma-nipur Pradesh president A Sharda Devi to bring peace and normalcy in the state at the earliest by resolving the present crisis.
