Sit-in denounces attack at Eye Care store

Imphal, February 02 2024: Condemning the attack carried out by unknown armed miscreants at the Medilane Eye Care Store, Palace Compound; staff and people of the locality staged sit-in demonstration in front of the store on Friday afternoon.

Speaking to reporters on the side-lines of the sit-in, Store general manager Khaidem Jacob Meitei informed that the miscreants came riding a white Activa and fired a shot around 12:30 pm, which is very unfortunate.

While stating that the store neither received monetary demand from any organisation nor has any enmity with any individual or group, he reminded all concerned that Medilane has been extending ambulance service during the time of crisis and will continue to do so in future.

Condemning in the strongest term such acts of intimidation, the general manager urged the government authorities to act investigate the incident and arrest the culprits involved.

He also informed that a case has been registered at Porompat police station.
