Phuba Khuman FC defeat Tungjoy to clinch 23rd PNTM tournament title

Phuba Khuman village won the 23rd PNTM tournament 2024 after beating Tungjoy in the final played at Jathro Groung, Tungjoy on Friday.
Tungjoy took the lead in the 13th minute, but Phuba Khuman village managed to equalise the score during injury time.
The game went into penalty kicks after both teams remained 1-1 after extra time.
In the penalty shootout, Phuba Khuman village prevailed 5-4 against Tungjoy to emerge as the champions.
Earlier, a valedictory function of the 23rd PNTM Tournament 2024 was attended by N Kayisii, MLA 49-Tadubi AC, as honoured guest and Woba Joram, working president NPF, as special guest.
MLA Kayisii praised the student body for organising such a tournament and urged players to aim high for future victories.
He urged the youth to pursue sports as a profession for wealth and fame.
Kayisii also commended the Poumai youth for excelling in sports and education, and urged them to strive for a better future.
Woba Joram emphasized the importance of bringing together all ages during a tournament.
He praised the host village for their hospitality and urged honour, cooperation, and good example to neighbouring communities.
Joram also emphasised the importance of respecting parents and focusing on tasks.
