Imphal, February 02 2024:
The Committee on Protection of Meetei Victims' (COPMeV), Moreh has rubbished all the allegations raised by the Committee on Tribal Unity (CoTU) and the Village Volunteers, Tengnoupal District recently.
A statement issued by COPMeV Moreh asserted that no one has any moral or legal authority to raise objections against deployment of State forces in any part of Manipur.
State forces have been protecting the lives and properties of citizens without any discrimination.
However, CoTU has been making all kinds of wild, unfounded allegations against State forces so that they can cover up the repeated attacks carried out by Kuki narco-terrorists against State forces.
CoTU must stop all their unfounded allegations and also drop their demands, it said.
It pointed out that the State forces comprise all communities of Manipur.
By warning all non-Manipuri shopkeepers of Moreh not to sell any kind of goods including water to State forces deployed at Moreh, the so-called Village Volunteers Tengnoupal District only exposed their terrorist character, it remarked.
The same warning has also given clarity on how Kuki terrorists have been oppressing, extorting and looting non-Kuki and the business communities of Moreh, COPMeV said.
The warning not to sell anything to the State forces can also be the first step towards expulsion of all non-Kuki communities from the border town, it said.
If the small communities engaged in petty businesses are not allowed to do any kind of business, they would be compelled to leave the border town, the Meetei victims' committee pointed out.
For their anti-social and anti-National activities, the State Government and the Government of India should declare the Village Volunteers, Tengnoupal District as a terrorist organisation, and befitting action should be taken up against them.
If the Kuki frontal organisations prohibit shopkeepers from selling goods to State forces and other communities, COPMeV and the people would block transportation of any type of goods to Moreh, it said.
It then appealed to the Government to give full authority to the State forces deployed at Moreh so that they can perform their duties effectively and also to ensure uninterrupted supply of logistics including medicines and food items.
