Padma Shri awardee Sasa thanks supporters

Padma Shri awardee Machihan Sasa has expressed his sincere gratitude to all those who have supported and believed in him through -out his journey, leading to his recent achievement - Padma Shri Award 2024 .
In a statement released Friday, Sasa thanked everyone who played a part in making his dream of receiving the prestigious Padma Shri award come true.
He particularly highlighted the efforts of Zanyo Varam, convenor and Themreichan Sharon, executive member of the Ukhrul for Sustainable Development (UfSD), for their tireless efforts in recommending him for the award.
"Without their efforts and selfless service I wouldn't have seen the light of the day," he said.
73 year old Sasa also expressed his humble gratitude towards Ukhrul MLA Ram Muivah for his wholehearted support and trust in his capabilities, which resulted in his nomination for the coveted award.
Sasa acknowledged Muivah's genuine concern for the welfare of the people and credited him for being a major driving force in his journey towards success.
The Padma Shri awardee also extended his thanks to Somatai Shaiza, a social worker who played a crucial role in coordinating with Chief Minister N Biren Singh, for the felicitation ceremony at the CM's bungalow.
Sasa expressed his gratitude towards CM Biren Singh for his kind gesture and statesmanship, which he believes has restored his faith in humanity and rationalism.
"All our efforts would have been in vain had our Chief Minister had no belief and trust in what I have been doing and what I intend to do in the days to come.
The warm reception and felicitation you had extended to me means the world for me and many out there," Sasa said.
"To all those who knowingly and unknowingly support me, pray for me and think of me may the great and benevolent Lord richly bless and keep you all," he added.
