Three bunkers destroyed, firing reported

Imphal, July 14 2023:
Situation remains tense in some parts of the state with sporadic incidents of firing among armed miscreants and gathering of unruly mob reported in the last 24 hours.
However, the situation is normal in most districts, said Manipur Police Control Room.
The control room informed that security forces conducted search operations in vulnerable and fringe areas of both the valley and hill districts and destroyed 3 bunkers.
In the last 24 hours intermittent firing by armed miscreants were reported in few places but the miscreants were repelled by police and central forces by launching operations in the said areas.
A total of 122 check points have been set up and 456 people detained.
Along with ensuring movement of essential items along NH-37 and NH-2, strict measures have been taken up in vulnerable places and security convoy provided in sensitive stretches to ensure free movement of vehicles, it added.
The police control room while appealing to the public to extend all possible help to restore normalcy in the state, also urged to clarify any rumour by dialling rumour free number 9233522822 or central control room and also to deposit arms, ammunition and explosives to the police or security forces immediately.
