State U-14, U-17 Boys' Subroto Cup : Stage set for semi-finals

The semi-final line of both the U-14 and U-17 boys competitions of the 62nd State Level Subroto Cup were completed today.
In the 7-team U-14 boys competition, Group A winners, Nirmalarani High School-Wangoi of Imphal East district will play Group B runners up Unique Model Academy-Heingang of Imphal East in the first semi-final match while Group B winners, TG English School-Bishnupur of Bishnupur district will take on Group A runners up, Public English School-Leishangthem, Thoubal district in the other semi-final match.
Meanwhile in the U-17 boys competition, Group A winners TG English School-Bishnupur will play Group B runners up Heirok Higher Secondary School of Thoubal district in the first semi-final match while Group B winners, CT Higher Secondary School-Mayang Imphal, Imphal West will face Khangsillung Higher Secondary School-Khoupum of Noney district in the other semi-final match.

Results of U-14 boys matches
Nirmalarani capped their Group A campaign today on a high note registering a 9-5 win over Sharon English High School-Longmai of Noney district.
Elibash took centre stage in this match scoring four goals (3', 13', 30', 50') including the opener for the Wangoi team while Musharaf (9'), Perison (15'), Albish (42'), Lanchenba (45') and Naoton (47') added a goal each.
Meanwhile, Riamei scored thrice (35', 84', 50') for the Noney team after his team mate Gangmei struck a brace (21', 24') in the first half.
In another Group A match of the same competition, Public English School played out a goalless draw with St Joseph Higher Secondary School of Tengnoupal district but advanced to the semis with better goal difference.
Results of U-17 boys matches
In the last Group A match, Khangsillung Higher Secondary School-Khoupum of Noney district blanked Langmeidong Higher Secondary School of Kakching district 3-0 to secure the runners up spot and a place in the semis.
Neilangam Pamei (31', 60') and Gairanipou Pamei (47') scored the important goals for the Noney team who would have secured the semi-final berth even if the match ended in a draw.
In the final Group B match, CT Higher Secondary School sealed a 1-0 win over Kangla Ukok Memorial English School to finish Group winner.
The only goal that made the difference was scored by Rishi in the 12th minute.
